Rams Pee Wee Team Scores Two in Final Seconds

April 15th, 2013

Our Rams Pee Wee team staged an incredible comeback to tie a very tough Bergen Edge team by scoring four of its five goals in the third period and two in the last minute of the game. The Rams started with a short bench and struggled early going down 3-0 in the first five minutes of the game. However, the team settled down and by the end of the second period the Rams were trailing 4-1. The Rams went down 5-1 early in the third, but scored two goals midway through the period to cut the margin to 5-3. Shortly after a Rams time-out, Rams goaltender Vincent Bernier, who made 29 saves in the game, came to the bench with 53 seconds to go. Rams veteran Dan Scott scored with 32 seconds left to cut the lead to 5-4. The Rams then won the ensuing center-ice face-off and pushed the puck deep into the Bergen Edge zone which allowed goaltender Bernier to come to the bench for a second time in the final minute. With 3 seconds left on the clock, Scott struck again scoring the equalizer and a Hat Trick! Coach Scott and guest coaches McCaskey and Mills are very proud of the boys and they way they fought hard, persevered and never quit!
